I then line both sides of the Bread with some more sauce, Put Meatballs on, top with a bit more sauce and Mozzarella....
and then top it with my sauteed Green Peppers
and of course more Cheese!!!
I then bake it until the Cheese is melted.
Of course you have to eat this with a fork and knife. It is so goopy and delicious!!!
Leena ate this particular sandwhich. She occassionally stops by to visit (I highly suspect because she's hungry LOL) and we end up sitting and chatting till the wee hours of the morning. This was such a night, however I couldn't sleep and woke up early screaming down the stairs at her asking her if she wanted a Meatball Sandwich. (She's never turned me down on anything I make) Of course, after only a couple hours of sleep she woke up. "Meatball Sandwich?" she asked, "SURE!!!" Actually come to think of it, she's tried a lot of things I've made. Mmmmmm
She has some kind of radar of when I'm going to cook. Well we'll see if she stops by tonight as I'm thinking of making Beef Wellington or something along that l line. I'll let you know.
Now you don't have to add all of these DOO-DADS to the sandwich.
A Simple Meatball Sandwich would really only have a few Meatballs on French or Italian Bread, topped with a bit of sauce, and maybe some Cheese.
Enough for one to be able to eat and drive with just a bit of difficulty.
But in my book, eating is for sitting down and really relishing the tastes, so why not go ALL THE WAY and really zippity do dah the sandwich?
Below is the nutritional value of just a plain old Meatball Sandwich with no Cheese, but just a hint of sauce.
Of course if you make it the way I did here, you could probably safely double that.
It's worth it!!!
