INGREDIENTS:

1/2 lb. Ground Beef
1 Egg
3 slices White Bread
1/4 Cup chopped Onions
Salt and Pepper
2 Tablespoons of Spaghetti Sauce (or 1 Tablespoon
Tomato Paste)
1/8th Cup Parmesan
Italian or French Bread slice, sliced open

OPTIONAL:
notch of melted Butter
Garlic clove diced
More Parmesan
A few slices of Mozzarella
Green Pepper slices with a bit of Olive Oil for frying
More Spaghetti sauce for topping

Remove crusts from White Bread; freeze and save for
when you make homemade Croutons.

Spaghetti sauce should be homemade. If not, bottled
will do.

You can also very quickly make a Red Sauce by
mixing a small can of Tomato sauce with Salt, Pepper
and a dab of Garlic POWDER.

Mix cubed White Bread in with Ground Beef,
Parmesan, Egg, Onions, Salt, Pepper and about 2
Tablespoons Spaghetti sauce.
If needed, add some Breadcrumbs.

Roll into Meatballs and place in baking pan, adding a
bit of water on the bottom so Meatballs don't stick.

Bake 350*F for about 1/2 hour, turning over after 15
min. Set aside.
OPTIONAL:
Some people just like a plain Meatball
Sandwich. I like it with EVERYTHING!!

With just a touch of Olive Oil I fry some sliced
Green Peppers for a few minutes...

Just so they are barely browned. Then I pour
in a bit of water and let them simmer for a
couple minutes more. I then remove and set
aside Green Peppers.

I then begin to make Cheesey Garlic Bread.
For this I need a notch of Butter, a
Tablespoon or more of chopped Garlic and
about 1/4 cup shredded Mozzarella.

I saute the Garlic in Butter for a couple of
minutes then...

Put my sliced French Bread on a baking sheet
and pour the Garlic saute over it.

I top it with some shredded Mozzarella and
bake until Cheese is melted.
I then line both sides of the Bread with some more
sauce, Put Meatballs on, top with a bit more sauce and
Mozzarella....

and then top it with my sauteed Green Peppers

and of course more Cheese!!!

I then bake it until the Cheese is melted.

Of course you have to eat this with a fork and knife. It is
so goopy and delicious!!!

Leena ate this particular sandwhich. She occassionally
stops by to visit (I highly suspect because she's hungry
LOL) and we end up sitting and chatting till the wee
hours of the morning.
This was such a night, however I couldn't sleep and
woke up early screaming down the stairs at her asking
her if she wanted a Meatball Sandwich.
(She's never turned me down on anything I make)
Of course, after only a couple hours of sleep she woke
up.
"Meatball Sandwich?" she asked, "SURE!!!"
Actually come to think of it, she's tried a lot of things
I've made. Mmmmmm

She has some kind of radar of when I'm going to cook.
Well we'll see if she stops by tonight as I'm thinking of
making Beef Wellington or something along that l line.
I'll let you know.

Now you don't have to add all of these DOO-DADS to
the sandwich.

A Simple Meatball Sandwich would really only have a
few Meatballs on French or Italian Bread, topped with a
bit of sauce, and maybe some Cheese.

Enough for one to be able to eat and drive with just a
bit of difficulty.

But in my book, eating is for sitting down and really
relishing the tastes, so why not go ALL THE WAY and
really zippity do dah the sandwich?

Below is the nutritional value of just a plain old Meatball
Sandwich with no Cheese, but just a hint of sauce.

Of course if you make it the way I did here, you could
probably safely double that.

It's worth it!!!
